Barrett Residence

El Cid

Situated along Flagler Drive in the history El Cid neighborhood, the Barrett Residence is a newly designed and built home that honors the area’s Spanish Colonial Revival tradition while embracing contemporary living. Designed as a gathering place for family and friends, the residence frames sweeping views of the Intracoastal Waterway and Everglades Island. Arched openings, stucco walls, and wrought iron details ground the home in the character of its historic surroundings, while expansive indoor-outdoor spaces invite a modern lifestyle centered on connection, entertaining, and the enjoyment of Palm Beach’s coastal setting

Process & Details

Preliminary drone images taken during the design process help both the client and architect see the potential views from the key rooms in the proposed concept.
Massing explorations is an early step in the schematic design process to help explore the arrangement of building volumes on the site.
Design development begins with a thorough study of context. This is especially important in a historic neighborhood where homes must follow established guidelines and contribute to the defining character of the area.
This is how it begins. A hand drawn vision refined through digital craft.
A lot has to happen before the finishes go in. Layout, framing, prep. A successful build depends on skill, communication, and care. These are the moments that don’t always make it into the final photos, but they’re what make the project work.
